I just found this article written by Oliver North on the DHS "rightwing extremist" report. Apparently, he meets 12 out of the 12 criteria. He must be really dangerous! I've always loved listening to Col. North, and the article below is worth the read. This is scary stuff folks. Our government is becoming more socialistic and totalitarian every day. Thank the Lord that our true citizenship is in heaven!

Oliver North Comments on the DHS "Rightwing Extremism'" Report: I Am an Extremist
By Oliver North
Sunday, 19 April 2009
Washington, DC – According to the U.S. Government, I am an extremist. I am a Christian – and meet regularly with other Christians to study God’s word. My faith convinces me the prophesies in the Holy Bible are true. I believe in the sanctity of human life, oppose abortion and want to preserve marriage as the union of a man and a woman. I am a veteran with skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. I own several firearms, frequently shoot them, buy ammunition and consider efforts to infringe on my 2nd Amendment rights to be wrong and unconstitutional. I fervently support the sovereignty of the United States, am deeply concerned about our economy, increasingly higher taxes, illegal immigration, soaring unemployment, and actions by our government that will bury my children beneath a mountain of debt.
Apparently, all this makes me a “rightwing extremist.” At least that’s what it says in the April 7, 2009 “Assessment” issued by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The nine-page report, titled, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” is full of warnings about American citizens who share any of my background or subscribe to the beliefs above. It is one of the most alarming documents produced by our government that I have ever read.
Evidently neither you nor I were ever supposed to read this “Assessment.” At the bottom of the cover page is a warning that it is “not to be released to the public, the media, or other personnel who do not have a valid need-to-know.” We’re Americans. We have a need to know what’s going on in our government – especially in an administration that promised to be “transparent.” A full copy of the report is posted at www.freedomalliance.org.
The “Assessment” purports to alert law enforcement officials that “rightwing extremists” – the term is used more than 35 times – are intent on exploiting Americans who have strongly held beliefs on everything from Christian faith to rising unemployment, U.S. sovereignty and the 2nd Amendment. It vilifies those of us in these categories by references to neo-Nazis, racists, militias, white-supremacists, and other “hate groups.” Notably, the report includes a warning that Rightwing Extremism “may include groups or individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”
Though the report proffers a passing reference to the 1st Amendment, it is replete with bias against conservative thought, writing and communications. On page 3, law enforcement authorities are warned, “Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, the perceived (emphasis added) loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures.”
This is a frightening acknowledgement that political speech is being monitored in America. It is also wrong. It’s not “perception.” It is fact . According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the manufacturing and construction sectors have lost 161,000 jobs and 126,000 jobs, respectively, in the last month alone.
In its “Key Findings” the DHS manuscript boldly charges “rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues” and warns that “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”
Under the heading “Disgruntled Military Veterans” the report alleges, “rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. These skills and knowledge have the potential to boost the capabilities of extremists – including lone wolves or small terrorist cells – to carry out violence.” These unsubstantiated claims are followed by reminders that Timothy McVeigh – the 1995 Oklahoma City bomber – was a military veteran. Omitted is any reference to the fact that Mr. McVeigh was simply one of more than 40 million law abiding veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Thirteen lines after this egregious, unconscionable slander against those of us who are military combat veterans, DHS makes the stunning charge that, “lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States.”
According to this DHS “Assessment,” the most dangerous threat we face here at home isn’t from radical imams preaching violence in U.S. mosques and madrassas, Islamists recruiting in our prisons, Somali terrorists enticing young immigrants to become suicide bombers or Hamas, Hezbollah or al Qaeda operatives plotting mass murder. No, according to DHS, the real threat comes from what our government labels “rightwing extremist ideology.”
Mr. Obama should publicly disavow this report and fire the officials responsible for issuing it. Those who prepare his remarks for the occasion should insert in the teleprompter, Senator Barry Goldwater’s words on the subject: “Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.”

Right Wing Extremists stuff!
I just ordered a T-shirt and a bummer sticker with these three radicals! You can order lots of Right Wing Extremists products like this at:http://www.cafepress.com/rightwingstuff/6715211
Then, start reading Jefferson (the extremist on the right). He said things like...
"Whenver any form of government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government."
That government is best which governs the lest, because its people discipline themselves.
We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
The tree of Liberty needs to be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
No free man shall ever be dabarred the use of arms.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

UPDATE - Are you a rightwing extremist?
One month ago I posted an entry entitled "The US Government thinks you might be a “terrorist”! As someone who met 11 of the 12 characteristics, I became very concerned that my government viewed me as a “rightwing extremist” who might become a “terrorist”. This original email is copied below.
Today I have an important UPDATE! Obama Administration officials have pulled the report!! Steven Ertelt of LifeNews.com reports:
Obama Administration Officials Pull Report Calling Pro-Life Advocates ExtremistsWashington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Obama administration has officially pulled a Department of Homeland Security Report that claims pro-life people may engage in violence or extremism. The document, which has already been sent to police and sheriffs offices across the country, sparked national outrage…
During a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on Wednesday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told lawmakers the report has been withdrawn…
"The report is no longer out there," Napolitano added. "An employee sent it out without authorization." Napolitano did not say when the report was taken off the Obama administration's web site but she said it was being "replaced or redone in a much more useful and much more precise fashion." Click here to read this entire article.
Now, I don't find Napolitano's comments that the report was sent "without authorization" credible (she had been vigorously defending the report). But at least I’m no longer officially a “rightwing extremist” according to our government--at least not officially.
So, great news. More rational voices won…this time. I guess I’ll have to take the ‘Proud to be a rightwing extremist’ bummer sticker off my car.
Keep you eyes fixed on Him!
Jeff – Your friendly former rightwing extremist
Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.

The US Government thinks you might be a “terrorist”!
You may have heard about a report issued by the Department of Homeland Security containing a warning to federal, state, and local law enforcement about the radicalization of “rightwing extremism”. Well, I just read the report and it is actually WORSE than what you’ve probably already heard.
Who are these rightwing extremists according to the April 2009 report? Well, according to Secretary of the Department Janet Napolitano and the Obama administration, you are a rightwing extremist if:
1) You reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority (p2)
2) You think the federal government might pass new restrictions on firearms (p2)
3) You are a returning military veteran facing reintegration challenges (p2) or are a veteran with combat skills and experience (p3)
4) You have recently bought a firearm or ammunition (p3)
5) You are concerned about the economy and recent government policies—in other words, you are concerned about big government spending like the TARP, the Stimulus Bill, and all the bailouts (p3)
6) You perceive there has been a loss of US jobs (p3)
7) You have different views than Barack Obama on the following:
a) You think the border should be secured and that illegal aliens should not be granted citizenship (p3)
b) You think we already spend enough on social programs (p3)
c) You are against further restrictions on firearms (p3)
8) You are against abortion (p4)
9) You are against same-sex marriage (p4)
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above statements, the Department of Homeland Security and Janet Napolitano think you are a rightwing extremist and may be a threat to this country. Absolutely unbelievable! But it gets even worse!
Do any of the following describe you?
10) You believe there are Biblical prophecies about the “end times” (p4)
11) You identify yourself as a Christian (p4)
12) You believe we are moving to a one world government (p6)
Yes, you read that correctly. Our Federal Government actually believes that you may be a “terrorist” if you identify yourself as a Christian! A TERRORIST for heaven’s sake!
Unbelievably, Secretary Janet Napolitano has refused to used the term “terrorist” in describing Islamic radicals who have are attacked our homeland, killed our troops, pirated our ships, kidnapped our citizens, and continue to pose a clear and present danger to the United States.
Yet, this report uses the word “terrorist” or “terrorism” some 18 times in 9 pages in referring to YOU! Even after the report surfaced in the press and many condemned the tone and implications, Napolitano stood by the report.
An April 16, 2009 Washington Times article stated: ‘Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday that she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report.’
Personally, I answered ‘yes’ to 11 of the 12 items above (I haven’t served in the military). What does that make me? But I’m probably viewed as even more of a threat—I teach a Bible study on prophecy and the “end times” at my church!! I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. So I’m just going to pray. I suggest you do the same. (1 Tim 2:1-2)
And remember, the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world! (2 Cor 10:4). The “sword” we use is the Word of God (Eph 6:17). I hope your sword is sharp—training yourself to correctly handle the Word of Truth (2 Tim 2:15)! And putting on the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Helmut of Salvation, and the Shield of Faith! (Eph 6:16-17) Then you will be ready to be a good terrorist—err, umh, I’m mean a good soldier—for Christ!! (2 Tim 2:3)
God’s grace and peace to you, Jeff – your friendly “rightwing extremist”
Verse of the week..
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.(1 Timothy 2:1-2)
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ(Philippians 3:20)
